Secc Subsea Applications illustration

The secc Subsea Pressure Balanced Safety Breakaway Coupling* is specifically designed to be installed within the length or at the end of a subsea pipeline, risers, jumpers and lateral tie-in lines to prevent damage to these and other subsea infrastructures from external forces such as subsea rock slides/mud slides, earthquakes, dragging anchors and storm damage acting on pipelines from production platforms and FPSO vessels

The coupling’s revolutionary design makes it extremely quick and easy to install by either diver or ROV and considerable time savings will be made when compared with existing technology in both shallow and deep sea fields.

Pressure balanced, with no separation forces being generated by internal pipeline pressure, the design provides an extremely safe and reliable coupling giving 100% shut-off under full pipeline pressure & flow, making it perfectly suited for the safe transfer of hazardous product media.

Coupling separation occurs only via axial tension and the coupling is unaffected by torsional side loads.
